Forum Rules

  1. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning.
  2. Post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
  3. Do not act as if you are a moderator. If you find a post that violates these rules, bring it to the attention of the moderators by using the "post report" feature. Failure to report and instead responding yourself may lead to a warning.
  4. Posting pornographic or otherwise offensive text, images, links, or other content is strictly forbidden and will lead to a warning.
  5. Respect the copyright of other users, sites, or other sources. Copyright infringement (posting content without permission from the owner) will result in the removal of the post and a warning.
  6. Post in a way that is consistent with normal writing. A consistent and recurring excess of any of the following in thread titles or posts will result in a warning: emoticons, large, small, or colored text, SHOUTING (all caps), punctuation (e.g. !!!!!?!?!?!?), etc.
  7. Please use an appropriate and descriptive title when starting a new thread. This will allow others to more easily and effectively help you or contribute to discussions that interest them.
  8. Use the test forum to test forum-specific features, e.g. signatures, links, images. Note that most previous rules will still be enforced (e.g. appropriate content, copyright). Testing these features elsewhere may result in a warning.
  9. The use of inline () image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed (for bandwidth reasons). We recommend using an online photo hosting site instead.
  10. Spam is not tolerated under any circumstance. This includes offering any services (paid or free), posting links to promote a website, or any other form of solicitation. Moderators will remove anything they regard as spam; it is up to their discretion. Members posting spam will be warned.
  11. The moderators reserve the right to edit, remove, or queue for moderation any post at any time. The determination of what is considered inappropriate, vulgar, spam, etc. is up to the moderators and not members.
  12. The above rules also apply to private messaging (PMing). Abuse of the PM system may lead to warnings and/or the inability to PM.


  1. Signatures should be of reasonable length and size. This includes up to 6 lines of normal text OR a single image up to 450x100px and 1 line of small text. If an image is of shorter height, more lines of text may be included, within reason.
  2. Content in signatures should be consistent with normal writing and abide by the forum rules above, where applicable.
  3. Links in signatures are limited to 3 links. You may not link to inappropriate or vulgar content or commercial websites.
  4. Animated images are not permitted.
  5. Members violating these rules will be warned or lose their signature privileges.


  1. Use an appropriate avatar of small size (not larger than 120x120px) without animation.
  2. The content of avatars must be consistent with general forum etiquette/rules as listed above.
  3. Users may be warned or lose avatar privileges if rules are not followed.


  1. Three Strike Policy Users will be warned a maximum of three times in a three month period. A temporary ban will result according to the discretion of moderators if a user is warned a fourth time.
  2. Arguing with moderators leads to an immediate additional warning, which may result in a temporary ban as above.
  3. If you feel you have been unfairly treated, contact a Super Moderator. A warning may be removed at their discretion.
  4. Any attempt to circumvent moderator action (including a temporary ban) will lead to a permanent ban. This includes re-registering, using a different email address, or otherwise hiding your identity as owner of the banned account.
  5. An exception to the Three Strike Rule applies when users contact moderators directly with insulting, inappropriate, or vulgar content. This can result in any punishment up to and including a permanent ban at the discretion of the moderator.
  6. Permanent bans are a last resort and are given careful consideration before implementation. Thus, the lifting of permanent bans is very rare, though it may be considered.
